What Else is Possible?

At the beginning of each year, I used to create a word for the year. This year I decided to change it up and choose a world of the month to focus on, Life changes, energy shifts and what I am focusing on in in January may be different than July
January was MOMENTUM, February was TRUST and March is POSSIBILITY
Years ago, I was in meditation and something interesting happened. Self doubt showed up, as she often does, But this time, she handed me a pink slip- you know the one that signifies that you are quitting a job. She said she was no longer needed. She said she may come back to visit but for now she was moving on.
I smiled when I came out of that meditation because I felt like something really shifted.
When I had the visual of her handing me the pink slip in my mediation she did tell me she’d be back and yes, self doubt shows up. I am asking myself which voice I give the microphone to.The voice of self doubt or the voice of possibility. But maybe the practice is not banishing her completely. Maybe the practice is inviting that part of myself in, back, acknowledging her and giving her space to speak and then gently let go. Here’s what I know, I’ll have the chance to practice this over and over again. And when I release and let go, there is space for something else and what if that is possibility.
Many of us ask the questions: Am I doing this right? What if I fail?
What if we replaced these questions with: What else is possible ?
Possibility invites curiosity, imagination and openness.
What is possible in work?
In relationships?
In adventure or spirituality?
Possibility can be in big leaps and in small moments ?
To trying something new
To saying yes
To imagining a different ending to a story you’ve been telling yourself
I’ve been thinking how often we may close doors before even checking if another is open. So this month I am leaning more into the question of: what else is possible?
What if something beautiful is on the other side of that question?
